Certification for Experienced Smear Takers

Objective

To offer experienced smear takers an opportunity to be assessed against Unit Standard 1098: Cervical Screening.

Assessment Process

  • Analysis of the National Cervical Screening Register 
  • Evidence of fifteen smears
  • Adequacy rate of 80% or over  
  • One detailed case study 
  • Clinical assessment

Nurses do not need to attend the theoretical course although are welcome to attend parts of the course if they require additional learning. A fee for service will be charged.

$200.00 (Excluding travel for an assessor)
