World Population Day

World Population Day (11 July) is an annual event promoted around the world to raise awareness of population issues.

2006

Around 200 people attended a MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY event at Parliament to mark World Population Day 2006. More >>

2004

In 2004, FPAID marked World Population Day with the opening by Hon Judith Tizard of "Hope and Dignity - Images of Life", an exhibition of photography by Simon Woolf that uses pictures from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam to explore the impact of HIV/AIDS on the lives of men, women and their children. 2003

In 2003, FPAID marked World Population Day with a screening at the National Library in Wellington of Vanuatu feature film "A Piece of Land". FPAID also used the event to launch a campaign to help buy condoms for the Pacific. More>>

2002

In 2002, FPAID marked World Population Day with a guest appearance on TVNZ’s Good Morning show by UN Face-to-Face campaign spokesperson Stacey Daniels. Stacey discussed a study tour she undertook with FPAID to Cambodia and Thailand where she viewed a wide range of sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDs, youth and women’s programmes.
